Apartments - Part 1Apartments - Part 1 by ShadowBunnyMari
I opened the door to my new apartment in Tokyo. It was much like an oriental house, with tatami flooring and polished, wooden furniture. I took off my slippers and put them aside. I shut the door behind me and walked around. There was a kitchen, a living room, and a dining room. That was pretty much all I needed for now. The walls were a cream colored; they weren’t too flashy, which was nice. There were big windows on the walls, too. The kitchen was equipped with a gas stove, a rice cooker, a microwave oven, and a refrigerator. The dining room had a wooden table with pillows to sit on. The living room had two white couches, a wooden coffee table, and a white armchair. There was a bathroom, of course, and a closet that stored my futon, which I would take out tonight to sleep on. To me, this place was much like my house back in Nagasaki, and I felt right at home. I sat on the armchair in the living room and thought about what happened today.
